Bobov Rebbe Zt"l recounts his rescue from the Holocaust
New Footage released of Bobover Rebbe, Grand Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam Zt"l recounts his rescue from the Holocaust, how he was miraculously saved in the final moments, after being captured by the Nazis in Neimark, Poland.
This Video Footage was released in commemoration of the Yahrzeit of Bobover Rebbe Zt"l, who passed away on Rosh Chodesh Av, Year 2000 at age 92.
Rabbi Halberstam says he survived the Holocaust so he can rebuild the Bobov Empire, that his father the second Bobover Rebbe, Bal Kedishas Zion Hy"d built in southeastern Poland, where he established 49 yeshivas all over Poland, all the students and Bobover Chasidim were nearly exterminated by the Nazis during World War II.
Under about 50 years of his consistently conciliatory leadership, the Bobovers became the leading Hasidic group in Borough Park, which is the most Hasidic section of Brooklyn. It is a neighborhood, city planners say, where the fertility rate is double that of New York as a whole, where families with eight children are not unusual and where Rabbi Halberstam convinced ultra-Orthodox Jews that they could thrive without compromising their way of life.
Historians say that Rabbi Halberstam enjoyed extraordinary success in recruiting Jews in America to the Bobov sect because of his devotion and love to every Jew, how he was them mekariv, and brought them back to Yiddishkeit, after the ashes of the Holocaust.

I hadn't realised just how alike he and the current Grand Rabbi (48) are. Mannerisms, speech, looks. This gentleman was built from stern stuff. I can't imagine what he went through to then start again from scratch. I'd have curled up in a ball and awaited death. 💪

Bobover Rebbe Zatzal was a builder, every bobover chasid felt like he was their own father, he cared so much for everyone, the smile he had to every yid, such tzadikim are irreplaceable, you don't have anyone like him.

If it is forbidden for an American to shoot videos on yomtov then an Israeli visiting America is not allowed to do what is forbidden here. Certainly not befarhesia! And if shooting videos is not really forbidden, then why make a point that an Israeli did it? And American would have been permitted too. Nice video, nice ceremony, but should not have been made, and certainly should not have been broadcast for all the world to see this chillul yomtov.
